This hat is part of a series of experiments in balancing the right proportions of materials and creatively repurposing scrap pieces. My "franken-hat" endeavor has been a fun journey of discovering how to make something beautiful from discarded materials, effectively reducing material waste.
This khaki wool felt hat incorporates navy up-cycled straw, taupe topstitching, a market-find patch, and a leather sweatband. Boasting a cool vintage Vietnamese deadstock hat liner, with an under brim paneled in another deadstock pattern, this fashionable 4" - 4.5" brim is finished off with distressed piping and a tie-around trim band. Ideal for everyday wear, the hat pairs perfectly with jeans and a tee.
